| Everyone knows what Botox is and what it can do! It can take years off your face by minimizing you wrinkles and crows feet, and that nasty "frown" line between your eyebrows. You can pop into a doctors office on your lunch hour and come out looking rested and years younger! Oh, how wonderful! It is also used to treat a variety of other medical conditions What no one seems to take into consideration is that there are side effects with Botox use, some of them very serious, not to mention that you could have an allergic reaction to it. with injections to the face you could have droopy eyelids, muscle weakness, nausea, facial pain, or infection. Is it worth it to get rid of a few wrinkles? Apparently so, since Botox injections were the most popular non-surgical procedure done last year. Botox in pill form for other treatments can cause many of the same side effects, plus more. You may have difficulty swallowing, respiratory infections, headaches, cough ,flu-like symptoms, back pain, dizziness, weakness, and anxiety. These are called mild symptoms, but more severe symptoms have been reported. Some of these are muscle weakness in the whole body, blurred or double vision, voice changes, loss of bladder control and difficulty breathing and swallowing. I never really have considered Botox injections because of this. I am afraid I would be one of the unlucky few that have the side effects. I will live with my wrinkles and frown lines. Oh! I forgot to mention..you have to have the injections about every three months because it only lasts that long, and it can cost anywhere from $300 to $600 dollars each time! |
